Voice Cloning

Using AI to create a synthetic copy of someone's voice from a small sample of their speech.

Definition

Using AI to create a synthetic copy of someone's voice from a small sample of their speech. Modern systems need just a few seconds of audio. Used legitimately for accessibility and content creation, but raises serious concerns about fraud, deepfakes, and consent. Several high-profile scams have used cloned voices.
